Former Chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Mr. S. B. Mathur has during his career held important positions such as Senior Divisional Manager, Gwalior, Secretary, Chairman’s Secretariat, Chief (Corporate Planning), Central Office, LIC.
He has considerable experience in Housing Finance, having worked as Manager (Mortgages), Delhi; Area Manager, LIC Housing Finance Limited from 1985 to 1993 except for a short break in 1989-90. Mr. Mathur was deputed as General Manager, LIC (Intl.) E.C., an offshore subsidiary of LIC from June 1998 to December 2000. His responsibilities included Fund Management in International scenario, business planning, marketing, extension of operations etc. During his tenure, the Company expanded its operations in Qatar and Dubai (UAE).
Mr. Mathur also served as the Chairman of the National Stock Exchange. He is also an Advisor to the National Investment Fund of the Government of India and Part time member of IRDA. Mr. Mathur was a Director on the Board of IRCTC during 2005-08. He was also on the Board of General Insurance Corporation of India and Ballarpur Industries Ltd. (BILT).
Mr. Mathur is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Commerce Graduate from University of Agra.
Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Mr. Stuart Take holds the position of SVP - New Markets Development. He provides oversight and direction for Genworth’s Mortgage Insurance Business Development efforts, which are currently focused on Asia and Latin America. The New Markets Team is responsible for identifying and developing country-specific and regional market opportunities that fit Genworth’s risk and return profile.
Mr. Take joined GE Capital (Genworth predecessor) in 1987, and over the past several years he has held a number of senior management positions in both Genworth’s US Mortgage Insurance platform, and overseas, including as President / CEO of Genworth’s Canadian Mortgage Insurance platform, and most recently developing and leading Genworth’s business operations in Asia. Prior to re-joining Genworth in the US, Mr. Take also led Deutsche Bank’s Financial Institutions Investment Banking practice for Asia (ex-Japan). He also sits on the Board of Genworth’s Australian Mortgage Insurance subsidiary.
Mr. Take holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Mr. Singh holds the position of Chief Risk Officer – Global Mortgage Insurance since 2014. He is responsible for providing oversight and direction for management of all risks of $650 billion insurance in force portfolio across global mortgage insurance businesses in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Mexico, and New Markets. He also serves as the Chief Housing Risk Officer with responsibilities for oversight and management of housing risk across the entire Genworth enterprise.
Mr. Singh has held various leadership positions in Risk Management and Capital Markets at US Bancorp, GE Capital, GMAC, Citigroup, and JP Morgan Chase prior to joining Genworth in 2014. He also served on the boards of Banco de America Central (BAC) International Bank, Capmark, and Small Business Financial Exchange.
Mr. Singh holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, an MS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Rutgers University, and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
Mr. Raj Vikash Verma has an experience spanning 35 years in the financial sector, as well as more than 25 years in the Housing, Mortgage finance and Real Estate sector.
Mr. Verma holds Master’s Degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, and MBA in Finance from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He has held a number of prestigious positions in course of his service career. Besides working with the Reserve Bank of India, and serving as CMD of NHB, Mr Verma has held several leadership positions, viz. MD&CEO and Chairman of the Board at CERSAI and the Central Registrar (both appointed by the Govt of India), Director on the Board (Whole Time Member) and Officiating Chairman at the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) (appointed by the Govt of India), Member on the Board of Trustees at the Credit Risk Guarantee Trust Fund for Low Income Housing, and Chairman at the Asia-Pacific Union for Housing Finance (APUHF) (elected by member countries), and former Chairman of the Board of IMGC. He also served as Member on a number of Committees appointed by the Government of India and Reserve Bank of India, and entrusted with an important role in the formulation of various national level schemes and programmes on affordable and low-income housing. Mr Verma is currently appointed as short term Consultant to the World Bank Group.
He was invited to speak as Guest Speaker at a number of national and international conferences under different domestic and international agencies like the World Bank/IFC, KfW, DFID, International Union for Housing Finance, Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation, USAID, Euromoney, IFR Asia, National Association of Realtors (USA), Wharton Business School and other international governments.
Mr. Khan retired as a Senior Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India in July 2016, after nearly 38 years of service. At RBI, he handled diverse areas and led major projects related to financial markets, payments and settlements systems, financial inclusion, foreign exchange management and banking regulation and supervision. He was instrumental in the formulation of RBI’s Payment System Vision 2018. He has overseen some of the major projects like establishment of CCIL, Core Banking Solutions, revamping of NEFT and introduction of UPI for retail payment.
Mr. Khan has also held the position of Executive Director of the Reserve Bank of India and Director of NABARD.
An M. Phil from Jawahar Lal Nehru university and a PGDM from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, he has been the nominee director of RBI on the board of several Indian Banks like Bank of Maharashtra and Punjab & Sind Bank.
